I am pleased to introduce myself for review and consideration for employment at your educational institution. With my certification and experience in educational technology and distance learning, I am very interested in utilizing my skills and abilities in a professional context.
Through my time in Michigan State University's Education Program, I was exposed to the importance of integrating technology into education. In order to prepare my 21st century students for life after high school, teaching relevant and modern skills became the core of my educational philosophy.
As a teacher at FlexTech High School in Novi, I created a blended classroom focused around digital skills and online citizenship. I wanted my students to understand why their education was useful and relevant to their lives. Through the use of project-based learning and makerspace education, I taught my students real life applicable skills that could be used outside of the classroom.
As the current Online Learning Coordinator for Northville Public Schools, I continue my pursuit of integrating technology into education through innovation. I continuously work through our many learning management systems (LMS) to improve the learning experience of our students through the implementation of pilot classes in the Online Learning Program. These experimental classes include the restructuring of course content, student response systems, and delivery methods. In the spirit of progress, I am currently researching the instructional design and integration of massive open online courses (MOOCs) into a high school setting to improve our online learning culture.
I am especially interested in organizations that are committed to student development as 21st Century citizens. It would be my honor to be able to continue and promote student growth in this area. I appreciate the opportunity to speak with you regarding a position. Thank you for your consideration.
