Creating Multimodal Online Courses
This course was created using a Massive open online course style of design. The goal of this secondary digital course was to be multimodal with content delivery and efficient for high pupil to teacher ratios. The course content is centered around the Scientific Revolution, but is focused on teaching digital media skills in the 21st century through assessments. Improving the State of Online Learning
For my this project, I selected the study and research of online learning as my focus. The goal of the project was to identify the underlying issues with online learning and through detailed research try to address them. This website is the final result of that research and is dedicated to the integration of new innovative methods to teach online. |
Creating Authentic Online Assessments
The goal of this project was to improve the authenticity of online assessments. Through my professional work, I had noticed a growing trend in the use of fact-based questions as the assessment of choice for 3rd party online learning providers. This project is the result of a semester long inquiry into improving assessment design in online courses. Researching the Potential of MOOCs
This annotated research and final conclusion is the product of a semester-long research project focused around the integration of MOOCs into secondary education. The goal was to see if there was a potential for MOOCs to be used as accredited courses in secondary education. While the potential is there, some design alterations are necessary. |
Programming a Hands-On and
Interactive Map For this project, I got to tinker with Makey Makey as I thought of potential applications for this educational technology. The purpose of this project was to create a more engaging and hands-on experience for students learning about geography and individual states. For this trial run, I decided to use my brewery map of Michigan as the prototype design. The final lesson design which utilizes an interactive map can be found here. Creating a Rubric for Digital Assessments
in the 21st Century For this project, I had to create an assessment rubric for assessments. Using various educational theories and influential research, I composed a rubric that is used for checking the quality of online assessment design. This rubric was used in the design process of various online assessments after its creation. All images on this page are of my own creation or design.

Creating Engaging Digital Assessments
Using Minecraft The purpose of this project was to create a digital formative assessment that focused on using games, specifically Minecraft, to engage and assess students. This screencast describes the assessment design and the task that students will complete in relation to the content knowledge that they are learning. Overall, the project turned out to be an innovative 21st century way to demonstrate a 15th century battle. Creating Infographics for Efficient and
Engaging Information Delivery Throughout my degree, I was able to hone my skill in numerous digital technologies and digital media techniques. Infographics are prized for their efficiency in displaying and transferring information. These two inforgraphics were designed to convey the utility of Makerspace Education and Massive Open Online Courses. |
